Hey everyone! (if there even is anyone there)
I am taking a short blog break due to school, but I will be
posting my projects and sketches along the way...hopefully ;)
No time for personal projects unfortunately. BUT I'm extremely excited for my fashion illustration class this semester

Thanks for stopping by!

p.s. Here's a piece from one of my favourite designers, Zac Posen.

It's almost done ... I think ... still want to fix the eye and put more work into the dress. She's also missing a shoulder but all will be done in due time, aka this weekend (i'm hoping no further procrastination will take place).

Fashion Sketch continuation

So I continued on the fashion sketch and ended up with a really ugly result by going with a style that was a little too sketchy and loose. I decided to restart it, and it looks miles better than my first try. I'm a big fan of restarting work, I discovered, because the second or third try is always better (in this case, WAY BETTER) than the first. I couldn't even believe the comparison, it looks like someone else did it:

Here's the first try, sketchy and loose. I wasn't happy with this one as I worked on it,
I like it when my work looks nice from the start, even though that's not always the case.

Here's the second try! I'm really happy with it. And it took me half the time it took to make
the sketchier one above. It's obviously still in the rough stages but I'm excited
to see how it will look when it's finished. I decided to open her eye
for more of an intense feeling in the composition, also I found it really hard
to render a closed eye because it always looked fake. Instead of starting with line,
I started with the shadows and then added lines and it really helped.

That's all for now! You comments and critiques are always welcome!

New Project

New Year's Resolution: Create fashion works to add to my portfolio (among other things)

Here's a sketch i'm working on, and yes, you guessed it, it's a fashion piece.

I'm thinking of making the dress partly in colour and partly in black and white, but we'll see what happens.

That's all for now!
